European City Seminars

"Ein aufgeschlagenes Buch ist Paris zu nennen,
durch seine Strassen heisst lesen." (Ludwig Börne, 1822)

Depending upon student interest, JYM arranges optional European City Seminars throughout the year. Because participation is optional, the cost is not included in the Program Fee.

The Berlin Seminar takes place between semesters and is a highlight of the Junior Year in Munich for many students. Because of the date of the Berlin Seminar (usually mid-March), participation is restricted to full-year and first semester students only. Interested students should budget approximately 500 € to cover travel, lodging and meals.

European City Seminars during the second semester have included Budapest, Graz, Ljubljana, Maribor, Prague, Vienna, Weimar and more. Interested students should budget approximately 350 € to cover travel, lodging and meals.

With approval from your advisor, an undergraduate research project (JY 490, 3 cr.) may be pursued in conjunction with a European City Seminar.
