World
Bridge Foreign Language Technology Center
The
World Bridge Foreign Language Technology Center was the brainchild of Prof. Dallas
Kenny, a Fulbright Scholar who earned his Ph.D. in Near Eastern Studies (Arabic
Linguistics) and Masters in Information Science at the University of Michigan,
as well as degrees in Arabic (BA) and Teaching (MAT) at Wayne State University.
Prof.
Dallas Kenny joined the Wayne State faculty in 1998 and served as Associate Provost
for Global Education. Within
a short time span of just two years, he succeeded in transforming an antiquated
language lab into a new $2.5 million, six-room and 300-seat capacity World Bridge
Foreign Language Technology Center. (Virtual
Tour)
The
World
Bridge Foreign Language Technology Center provided the foundation for Japan Bridge
and German Bridge initiatives within the College of Liberal Arts.
In
2004 Prof. Dallas Kenny joined the
College of St. Benedict and St. John's University in Collegeville MN, as Dean
of International and Experiential Education.
